Dr. Mingming Wu | Radiologie | Research Excellence Award
Technische Universität München | Germany
Dr. Mingming Wu is an interdisciplinary scientist and physician–researcher specializing in advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with a strong focus on quantitative imaging of adipose tissue, MR thermometry, and image-guided therapies. Her research bridges physics, biomedical engineering, and clinical radiology, contributing to the development of robust MRI methodologies for studying brown and white adipose tissue, cancer cachexia, metabolic health, and thermal therapies. She has made significant contributions to correcting motion, susceptibility, and field inhomogeneity artifacts in MRI, as well as to diffusion-weighted spectroscopy and water–fat separation techniques. Her work integrates experimental MRI, sequence development, quantitative image analysis, and machine learning–based segmentation, with broad impact across radiology, endocrinology, and oncology.
